Course Objectives:

To provide participants with a practical, detailed introduction to both the principles of process mapping and the standards that constitutes the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, the participants will:

Understand process mapping
Be able to use process mapping to create an AS IS as well as a TO BE model of a process
Identify the main symbols used in the BPMN 1.1 standard

History of BPMN
Process identification
Types of processes
Identifying process owners
Creating the process team
Identifying and analyzing process metrics
Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Process improvement and redesign principles
Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) symbols
Decomposing processes
Linking process to procedures
Processing standards (i.e. IDEF0)
Business Rules

Prerequisites:

This course is aimed at business analysts, process analysts, business architects, and anyone who needs to understand, read, and/or develop process maps using an industry standard notation. No previous knowledge of business process management or process mapping is required.

Duration:

1 or 2 days depending on exercises and client requirements.

This course is delivered using a combination of lecture and practice exercises where participants will have ample opportunity to practice and apply the theory delivered in the course. The course can be customized to utilize case studies specific to your organization.
